Voters in Lincoln County School District No. One have approved an $8.2 million bond election to construct a new auxiliary gymnasium. Shortly after the 12 hours of voting ended at 7 P.M., the yeas went up by a four to one margin, and as the final results came in, the totals were 415 for and 108 against.

Third passenger dies from Casper rollover

A third person has died from injuries received in a one-car rollover 40 miles east of Casper on April 23. The latest to died is Adrian T. Produit, age 31, of Mills. Adam K. Tucker died at the scene, and Shantel Miller, age 16, died April 26 at Wyoming Medical Center. Both Tucker and Miller were also from Mills. The driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old Amanda B. Snay, is the only one to survive the wreck. None of the occupants was wearing a seat belt, and all were thrown from the vehicle w

Leonard Nichols and Bob Wright recently took part in the Bass Federation / FLW Western Regional Fishing Tournament at Lake Havasu, Arizona. The local fishermen earned spots on the 12-man Wyoming TBF team. The contest took place April 6-11. The first three days of the event were practicer fishing days where the teams had a chance to become acquainted with the lake. KHS golfers finish second among the five teams on local course

Five teams from Southwest Wyoming were among the first players this year on the Fossil Island Golf Course this past Saturday. The course conditions were very good for early spring with the green cover being removed just this past Tuesday. Forty-seven golfers were assembled under blue skies and almost windless conditions. LaBarge is going to be booming this summer, with the announcement by Exxon /Mobil that it will build a $100 million carbon dioxide capturing and storage plant, with the plant slated to go on line in late 2009. The sale runs from Wednesday through Saturday, and proceeds go to the Lincoln County Library Foundation, which supports special events such as the annual Taste of Books.
